Dual Sport Cold Ride Part 2
Просмотров 428Месяц назад
After the warm up road up the mountain water break whoops we hit the challenge of the day. Recent flash floods had loosened all the rocks up on the creek crossings and changed the crossings a bit rearranging the rocks. The crew was still all in on the challenge. JRM927 had peeled off for home, so now it was just Bomose, Enginebreak, WECSOG, PepperLady and I. As you'll see it was the most intere...

One more great day with the crew. There was a little more to talk about today. An award or two won, and a previously used video slice revealed in full detail. A challenge at the end made taking it back to the room interesting. This is such a great bunch, the Hair on Fire group not represented in this one. They were off having their own fun. First Ride with the VFRD crew, it was eye opening. Met really cool people and they were welcoming nice to me. 421 The Snake , Back of The Dragon 16, were some of the highlights. I was in the back where I belonged most of the day except for a little bit that comes to light why after a bit. Learned something about how to handle the Moto Guzzi Breva 750ie after this ride was over, maybe I'll take ...
Fun Route to first VFRD

My first but not last experience with the VFRD crew. Fun route to get there avoiding Chattanooga, then Tail of the Dragon, the last leg of fun was blocked by a truck on fire in the road forcing a detour and just roll on in to the meetup where a couple of familiar faces were waiting, but several more friendly ones. All are familiar now. Thank you for letting me ride with ya'll. Filmora 11 Music ...

Being sucker for a sideways V Twin engine with a shaft drive, I couldn't resist trying to save it. I've enjoyed the journey with this bike. I've ridden the Tail of the Dragon, the Back of the Dragon and did it from North Alabama including much more not shown. Music Filmora 11; Better Get Ready

The end of a fantastic riding week topping it off with great friends. Lots of action thanks to multiple camera footage from Hawk Girl, Enginebreak, and TheSweeper. Plenty to record thanks to Zoomer, Zeer0, Kliem, Jusendit1, TheGirl, Pepperlady, Enginebreak, Hawkgirl and TheSweeper. Along with a friend of Zoomer's, Brian who kept a low profile. wow!!!!
It suddenly realized it didn't want to tangle with Jolene!
Papa Joe Terry at 89 years old doesn’t use blinkers for this reason 👍😂
If he forgets and does I'm sure you remind him.😁😁 Its just something to rag someone about on a ride. Sometimes a ride goes so flawless there is nothing else to rib anyone about.
lol dang I think pepper lady needs some pontoons on that thing! Or at least give her a life jacket! 😅
She had only went down in Owl Snot water crossings before this day. Then the first one shook her confidence, she did cross two successfully off camera on that ride. We did 5-6 today actually including an infamous TAT Owl Snot crossing (Double Branch Rd), crossed em all fine.
I was in pre-season form for a playoff level trail 😂
I'm riding the SM 500 with a couple friends in October. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks for a great video. BTW, I love that little Sherpa. Cool bike.
The Sherpa is favored by Pepperlady
Bwahaha Did the Scooter Dude from BF3 show up in Maggie?
Show up!? Why he runs the show! He created Beat the Heat Scooter Rally in Maggie Valley
@@Thinwater I know, I was referring to the dude we passed on the trail.
@@wolfpackone4025 Oh yeah! Scooter dudes abound, I can't keep em straight.
Yeah, wet feet can make you think that 50 degrees is cold but 90 degree water can take your life as your core temperature drops. So the word, "cold" is relative to the situation. I looked for ice as you started but I soon understood how you meant it on this video. All that said, it looks like a fun all around trip if you kept your feet happy/warm? That's why I'd always put 1 pair of extra socks in my bag. They don't weigh much & can really be nice/ I've always wanted the XT225 but the only one I came across was kinda beat up & he wanted a pretty steep price. I passed. be safe
😂😂😂😂
Patient zero in North Alabama for the scooter virus. Ask me how I know!!
I know of two more showing symtoms.........
I'd kill for some cold weather right now lol. Looked like lots of fun!
I get it! I'm just that far behind and farther on editing rides. So hot right now.
Looks like great roads. Been thinking of heading up that way. Is the route the group used online somewhere? I found the thread on the VFRD forum but the only map link was for the motel. Didn't see you mention the route on ADVR either.
Route was made up on the fly, I was just following.
You can watch the video and figure out the main points and make your own route in between. Google Virginia Back of the dragon 16 (I believe) then, The Kentucky Dragon, (I have a shot of the sign 60??) and you can pick your own way there and back between them. There are only so many ways around those mountains.
A little "pucker" on that one. I've been practicing the tips ya'll taught me and that's one of my fears! 🤟
It was steep downhill so the rear braking was assist couldn't be used as heavy as I tried to apply it. All that was saving the rear by letting off, straightening up and trying to redive in the curve and because I had less time to make it, I put too much rear brake in it again. The front was holding the whole time. Just so ya know.
ruclips.net/video/UsOGqaTH3d0/видео.html I think this could helful for your standing up stance on Tuareg
Enjoyed "riding along"! Keep 'em coming.
WOW! Did I see a "Bypass Chattanooga" mention? Dadgum right, sign me up! That right there is enough reason to watch this again, ...with a pen and notepad ready. Oh, yeah... the riding was pretty cool, too. 🙂
You're welcome
Jay can find some roads can't he? Looks like a great day!
Don't have any problem with it, it was entertaining, made it memorable!
@@Thinwater I was talking about the whole package of roads. I love a little gravel in my travel sometimes. Looked like some beautiful places.
@@TheSweeper "Gravel in my travel", Imma steal that one!
A warm cup of coffee and a cool Thinwater video, are a perfect way to start my day! Enjoyed "riding along" on those familiar roads. Keep 'em coming!
Honored to entertain you!
Just watched this again since I can't ride and DAMN I'm ready to go again!
Soon....Soon
Well done Sir🏍️‼️❣️‼️🤠
Thank you.
Loved it! You definitely modified that bike quite a bit!😂 Awesome shot of Jay yawning! Another awesome video! Thank you!
I think Jay was bored with Steve’s ride.
Should have weighed that Breva before and after!😮
@@TheSweeper 😄
Nice Breva! You did a great job on the tank. I’m working on my own project Breva and (slowly) documenting it on my channel. BTW, seeing you riding it on the track was sweet! 🙌🏼
If you are going to run it fast and lean it hard, flip the muffler clamps bolts up. and grind the side stand foot to the weld on the side facing the ground when leaned. Thanks for the compliments.
As always, great video. Love the sunrise, hate the curve cutter!
I thought you were hating on my bike at first! Now I know you mean the lane swapper on the Dragon. LOL
Awesome! I’m ready! Can’t wait to see the next one! What a beautiful sunrise!
According to my informant, ya'll met the Stiletto on Steel rider two weekends ago. Small world
Nice to see a SS finally getting used like it's supposed to. Most of them got strapped to r/v's and used 10 miles a year.
Thats good for the people that know what they are when they turn up used!
What's the model of windscreen?
OEM 2004 windscreen
Oil light on,,,??
Fuel Injection light on sporadically. Its a flaw in the programming that the later years solved. You used to could take in in for a reflash and fix it. Dealers have long let that equipment go, I can't find someone with the means to plug into it and the software to do it. There is also a rumored fix to reroute some wiring harness to get it away from the plug wires and coil, but that didn't seem to help this one. Its a useless light anyway.
You ride that bike better than it was intended to be ridden!
Wow, thank you!
You know I was just keeping up with you, then having to draft you in the straightaway.
I heard you don’t have to tag those Italian bikes, and that the drop-it-on-its-side sensor works better upside down
I've heard that too!
My favorite part is you passing Klim on his FJR. 😂
I couldn't resist when I saw I had Shawdy in some footage with the Breva! There is more to it than that, that'll be in the VFRD
I think I've seen that bike before, somewhere...
Love the Moto Guzzi's I have two of them
Which ones?
I have two Converts and just sold my G5
Look like fun trip some of the places I know but where was day 4 the little cabin at ?
Cherohola Motorcycle Campground
That looks like fun! Mike's Ellijay Restaurant has great food - no plastic payments though. Copper Grill also good. The bear crossing - that's the way it goes, just turned off camera or can't get it on in time. Let the good times roll.
I have no problem with Mike's Ellijay Restaurant's no plastic policy. Help fight the war on cash. No need in them losing 3% of profit to the card companies when its already hard to make in the restaurant business. Glad you enjoyed and commented there is a lot more from last year that I haven't gotten to yet and already recording rides this year. Work in the way but it'll come please stick around.
@@Thinwateryeah, I don't have a problem with the policy either. just put it out there for others who might read comments and are riding through Ellijay.
Thank you all for a great ride and @thinwater2001 for the awesome edit of our memories.
Look forward to more!
Fantastic editing! Loved it!😊
You provided a lot of content and entertainment!
That Himalayan seems to be in its element there.
What an amazing place to ride.
Its pretty good! It didn't cover all the area has to offer.
It's been almost 12 years....how's the AF4 Grande? Would you build another one?
Yes. Its about time for a repaint, but its ready to go as is right now. May put up a fishing pictures montage before long and you can see it again. Fishing shallow rivers with family, it draws 2.5" of water and the jet foot draws 2.5" more dead drift. Running its drawing less than 4" I'd suspect at the motor. If I was only fishing, not occasionally camping in it, I'd build it to the lower trim line and leave off the cabin. because of its low draft and high sides, its a weathervane in the wide open. I have to throw an anchor off the rear and let the front settle downwind to fish out of it in the wide open, otherwise the trolling motor on the front is in a never ending battle with the wind.
Thinwater...thank you for the reply!! I would love to see more photos or videos of the boat. My favorite photo of the boat is on the trailer behind the C-10, it's awesome!!! I wish I was closer, I would love to see it in person. Do you have a web site or other contact info available where I can contact you with more information about the build? Thanks again...@@Thinwater
@@aaronenstad9320 I assume you saw the pics on the Glen-L boatbuilders forum. It would probably be beneficial to others to ask and answer there. If that works for you let me know and I'll make it a point to log back in and answer questions. I haven't looked there in a while.
he hit a leaf you can see it
You're right! I've never seen it, Enginebreak will feel vindicated on your discovery!
I have ESPN. As soon as the video started I could foresee that slide lol. Glad he's ok. I've definitely over rode my knobbles a time or two lol
At least I didn't SLIDE my revolver across a rough surface! 😂 Glad you guys are ok. Btw I'm not a candidate for chaperone; if I were there we would still probably need one.
I did that with wifey’s bike a few weeks ago. I did not have on gear and I still have a hole in my foot… glad he had his gear on. Last time I circle the neighborhood in shoes… 😅
On that bike drop I did the foot peg was sandwiching my foot against the pavement. No real injury but it ached for a month or more. The weight of that bike had a lot of leverage against my foot.

Awesome! Fun day even with the flats. And that was a look of concern on my face when y’all were getting soaked, not smugness.😁😁
Yeah right, lol. No need in us ALL getting wet.
👍👍👏
dude is as dangerous as they come I hope I'm not that reckless I don't ride and film at the same time like that at all ever let alone stopping while you're going without letting them know
He did let everyone know that he was stopping. My cardo was not letting the sound through & they didn't know it. I planned to tell them at our first break spot. I have followed him for thousands of miles all around the country, he is not reckless. It was just a bad moment that could have been much worse.
